Woodstock NMT lane repaired and open for use again

The City has recently completed repair work along the Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) lane between Paarden Eiland and Woodstock. This lane forms part of the Woodstock NMT corridor and was temporarily closed due to infrastructure vandalism and cable theft.
The City has now repaired the footways impacted by cable theft and vandalism. Hedges and overgrown foliage were also cut back.
‘It was very important for me to see that the infrastructure along this popular and essential NMT lane was restored as so many cyclists, pedestrians and MyCiTi commuters make use of the facilities to access the City Centre and Woodstock daily. I know many cyclists from the Table View, Milnerton and surrounding areas who commute to the CBD will be as happy as I am to see that this NMT lane is now open for use again. Pedestrians and MyCiTi users now have access to new refurbished footways in the vicinity,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
These NMT lanes are specifically designed to provide a convenient route for cyclists and pedestrians alongside our MyCiTi bus routes.
